There is only 15mm length difference between the two. Apparently the z292 is meant for the 2.7d and the z153 is for the 4.2 -according to Midas' GUD reference manual. Nevertheless I ordered 2 x z292's, they only had one in stock.
They under R120 per filter, Nissan filters were about R300(or more) each iirc. Big saving.

The GUD z292 filter is quite a bit smaller than the nissan oil filters.

I doubt that on 5000km interval services that the filter length will make much of a difference

I got a new air filter today, which side is suppose to be top? Which bottom?
After the guys installed the snorkel I'm not sure if they fitted the air filter the correct way. Does it matter?

Which is top, A or B?

Not a major issue, but in my opinion the rubber foam bit ( first pic )( A ) should be at the bottom, the softer plastic seal ring ( B ) at the top. The rubber foam will hold the filter weight better than the softer plastic ring which will seal around the airbox lid better.

I agree with Cedric, rubber part has to seal on the aircleaner box cover.
I also only use the Nissan air filter for my Patrol as there is no aftermarket filter. You do get others that are close, but I dont like the whole modding a filter to make it work. Plus its only R200 more for the right thing
