ZD 30 Boost Control Fundi Needed

Post by Tony »

Trying to eliminate overboost and getting hopelessly confused!! Managed to fiddle with the VNT thimmajig and looks like I have gone and lost my original setting. I am seeing very short boost pressures of up to 1.0 1.2 and 1.3 bar when accelerating, and when on the flat at +-2500 rpm right down to 0.4 - 0.6 bar, which is great considering that it was up to 1.3 bar when cruising all the time. However, she does'nt have any go when I put foot to pass. Takes a long time to build up speed. Does anyone know how to set up properly ??

Thanks for all the info guys, but I was really wanting to know whether any of you have fiddled with this setting, and what the effect was by turning clockwise versus anticlockwise, also if there is any detrimental effect should the setting not be done correctly. Also, what boost pressures would be normal and what would be the maximum allowed - measured in bar.

Dankie Herrie, I made contact with Graham today, and will pay him a visit next week and he will go through the setting with me so I can sort out this issue myself next time without causing too much k**k!!
Thank you for the offer - good to know for future refference, cheers mate.
