The loop that comes standard is rubbish. If you remove it and look at the welds at the back you'll see it too.

Get yourself one of G-Man's proper rear recovery shackle holders.

Ek praat van die Y61 model. Ek het die fotos geneem en sal vanaand post as ek by die huis aankom.

This is what the loop looks like when removed and turned on its side to expose the joint on the inside. Observe the quality of the joint.

This is a smaller version of what G-Man fits to Patrols. The one fitted to Patrols are significantly bigger and more robust.

You can now make up your own mind whether you think it is safe to use the standard loop for serious recovery. I certainly will not be using it.
My order is in for G-Man's Y61 rear recovery point.

I stumbled upon and bought a second-hand copy of Glyn Demmer's book ''Off-Road Tactix - Tread with Respect'' today.
It makes for excellent and easy reading, and good education. Really worth the while. Picked it up for R20 in very good nick. Would be very useful in the Nissan 4x4 Club Training environment.
