Front wheel bearings

Post by Jan »

Hi All,
I have a 2002 Patrol GU and need to replace the front wheelbearings. Nissan only supply the complete hub with bearings @ +- R12,000 for the 2. Bearing Man cannot find the correct bearings on their system - it is not listed. I am however shure that they will have the correct sizes - can anybody please help and tell me what size/ref. number bearings I need ?
Thanks,
Jan Schoeman.

Hi Jan,

I haven't heard of any of the forum guys replacing their bearings yet. It's unlikely that bearing man will have it on their system but if it's not your daily driver why not quickly strip the hub off, I won't remove the outer ring yet but once clean you should be able to see a number on it. Are you sure it's the bearing though? or are you doing preventative maintenance?

If no-one replies maybe try Oz forum, they might have a number.

I did have some write up on this [maar ek sukkel met "search" op hirri forum, te vroeg uit die skool uit:

NORBRAKE DISTRIBUTERS cc; 5 Top Road; Anderbolt; Boksburg, 011 894 2371

OR Commercial Auto spares [find Under "Commercial Radiators"]

Also see Yellow Pages if "ACME Parts" are still in Rosslyn, they have ALL seals and bearings and such [they suply all the factories in Rosslyn ... at least last that I knew of [but ... times they are a-changin']
