Rims for Nissan Patrol 4x4 2004

Post by anikavermeij »

Hello!
We recently bought a Nissan Patrol 4x4 in Lilongwe, Malawi. The owner told us it was from 2007, but the blue book says 2004, so we are not totally sure.
The problem is, that the car currently has 17inch rims, but we need to replace the front rims now. Until now we are unable to find the correct rims because of nothing fits.. The other option is to replace all 4 rims for 16 inch ones, but they don't seem to fit either. Anyone familiar with this problem and know how to solve this? Or anyone know where to find the correct rims and how to get them to Malawi?

Hi Anika - and welcome to the forum.

The PCD (pitch circle diameter) for the Patrol is not standard. I believe that some forum members who have used after market rims have had the PCD machines out on their rims in order to get them to fit. However, I do not know the details on this as I am running standard rims.

The earlier Patrols made use of 16" rims and these were replaced with 17" rims on the face-lift model which probably came out in around 2004 - here in ZA. Unsure about Lilongwe. Can you post a photograph of your truck so that I can see the shape of the vehicle as well as the rims ?

Tinus Lotz (one of the forum members here) will probably have a set of standard rims. Alternatively, David Volschenk. Perhaps send them a private message or wait for them to see this thread and respond.

The first photo seems to be a standard steel rim. The other seem to be the standard series 1/2 alloy rims as per the photo I've attached.

But... are you sure those are 17" rims ? Both of those came out in 16" only, as far as I know.

What size tyres are you running ? ie: 285/75R16 / whatever. The code on the tyre ?

The Patrol has a relatively standard PCD of 5.5" (139.7mm).

But the spigot diameter is larger than most other vehicles, and for non-Patrol rims the ID of the rim needs to be opened to 102mm.

16" and larger rims should fit (assuming the above has been sorted).
Mag ons ons kenniskry met lekkerkry aanhoukry.
