Wheel Spacers....Please help
Hey chaps, i'm looking for wheel spacers, approximately 25mm wide, but 5mm either way is not a problem. I'm running 7jj rims with 235x85.16 muddies and i'm not interested in replacing all my rims, it expensive. The 25mm spacer shouldn't affect my wheel bearings at all so think i'm gonna go this route.
Anyone know where to get some? good quality and strong.
Please let me know.
Russ

Hi Russ
The price of a set of 25mm spacers will work out at nearly the same price as a set of cheap alloy rims so I would rather buy a set of rims with a little bit more off-set, also end up with a wider rim to allow for a larger tyre at a later stage.
give me a call as I have a set of 16' alloy rims for sale.

Hi Dennis,
This is true, i found this out earlier today strangely enough after Chris Ingram from R&D rang me,he suggested exactly what you
've just said!. I'll probably look around for an 8j rim, however, i'm looking for steel only, not alloy, but thanks for considering me i do appreciate that offer. If you know of where to purchase steel rims at good prices let me know.
Cheers

Re: Wheel Spacers....Please help
Spacer's is sometimes more expensive than wheels, our local wheels that is.
I have two sets of spacers, 50mm and 28mm.
Buy the right offset rims, just check center bore before you buy. Patrol front hubs are huge and most local rims don't fit over..!
Nothing some machining can't sort out.
I can also get steel wheels with a 9mm and 30mm offset, 8j.

Re: Wheel Spacers....Please help
Hi Russ,
I had my spacers made at Engelbrecht Engineering in Stikland - dealt with the owner himself - Andre Engelbrecht. Steel spacers which he had electroplated for me to prevent rust. He is hugely known amongst the guys at LCCSA and drives a Cruiser himself.
I am very happy and satisfied with the job they had done - and did not think it was too expensive. Compared to changing tyres and rims.....the spacers was a much better deal (for me)!
Here's his number if you wish to contact him - (021) 949-8368 / cell 082 577 3288.

Re: Wheel Spacers....Please help
Okay so I'm completely clueless about this..... could someone please explain the need for spacers, or is it just to "widen" the stance for the Patrol so it looks meaner...
also, what is this "offset" that you are talking about? I've seen other posts referring to 15 inch rims giving better offset etc.. but im on the dark on the tire/wheel talk
Thanks!

Re: Wheel Spacers....Please help
On the Patrols the only reason to get spacers would be to alter the track width. On the new 70 Series Cruisers the guys fit spacers to the rear to compensate for the large difference in track width front to rear.
Offset is the distance between the surface on the rim that mates with the hub when the rim is bolted on and the center plane of the tyre. A positive offset places the mounting surface outboard of the tyre center plane. For example: The Patrol GRX wagon has a positive offset of 10mm, so if aftermarket wheels with zero offset are fitted, the vehicle's track width will increase by 20mm (10mm per side).
I hope that helps.

Re: Wheel Spacers....Please help
So aftermarket wheels such as MT's or the pro-white's are fitted, they typically have zero to negative offset?
Thanks Gerrit !
