Hi Gents,
I have a problem. Wanted to purchase a Venter voyager trailer. But looks like it's not compatible with the factory fitter two bar that comes Standard.
Been to supa quick, and thy have never seen a tow bar of that nature before. Has anyone been through this problem before.
Any suggestions please...
Regards
Rahul

Hi
My patrol has a standard hook. But when I was about to take the delivery of the trailer today they said their mechanism is not compatible with Nissan standard hook. So had to return back without the trailer
Regards

Is that (picture) the hook on your patrol?
Does not look like a standard hook.

That is a
Puntle hook not suited for towing the normal trailers and more or less more milatary spec .
You need to fit a towbar and normal hook first

The hook on your car is a pintle hook which is not standard for road towing applications.
It is used by most militaries, and therefore the towing hitches are available, but not through normal spares shops. And they will be expensive too. Furthermore, there is a lot of play in such a connection, so it tows with a lot of klanking and banging.
Also, that position on your car is far too high for towing a small trailer like that. It would probably be dragging it's tail on the ground.
That pintle on your car is not fitted there for towing, but for recoveries.
You need to fit a proper towbar to the chassis, below the bumper. Speak to Bosal?

Thanks for the suggestions gents.
Any recommendations for a normal tow bar?
Looks like Bossl has one, but not sure of its reliability, klanking and banging

Yes, apparently it's a heavy duty hook.

The Bosal towbar is absolutely perfect for your requirements. I have one on my vehicle and it works very well – and I tow a reasonably heavy trailer.
