I don't like the engine choice. I think Nissan are trying to get rid of a lot of old stock.
The two non turbo 4.2 pickups I use every day are no nonsense workhorses that will stop for nothing.
I worked at a site close to Caborra Bassa a while back. The fuel we could get got progressively worse and I ended up owning the only running vehicles in the camp. All the new commonrail engines failed spectacularly and some older vehicles just died.
I will not buy the new pickup unless Nissan offers us a 4.8 auto.
I agree Alex but if the factory guys go out there and see what people are doing with WORK Bakkies they will fokus ......they get 500ppm delivered to the farm everything runs on it bakkies tracktors trucks ect...when they pull big trailers for game ect they want power that last like a 4.8 or old school 4
2 with or without a blow machine. ...I realy dont think the 30l can live up to the 4.2 but that's just me ....Toyota still sells the 4.2 koolstoof every day ....or the new v8 but they give the customer the options. ....they sell 4.0l petrols so why only one engine model????? They missed it again ......after they had meetings with guys like Christo that told them what the guys want .....don't understand
that 3,0 V6 DIESEL as comes in the Navara / Pathy .. now THAT would get me charging walls ... But.... having had BOEZMAN and knowing how to care for that ZD 3,0 .. I will take one tomorrow ... and every day.
Who wants a to buy full Vanderlinde converted Tyotta Prado ???
Don't bring God down to your level of faith ... bring your faith up to His level!

En se nou daar is....."dirty diesel!".....
That is the issue, is it not?
Africa is just not a core market. And the BIG african customers, are not looking for heavy workhorses. Mines are even moving away from cruisers and going toward hi-luxes. The cheap throw away mentality.
The Middle east and Asia is where it is all at. So 4.8l petrols for middle east and 3.0d for Asia. I see heaps of the 3.0d running around in the Philippines. More than the Cruisers. Also in Asia you would struggle to get the grenade high egts with their type of vehicle use. So sorry chaps. We have no bargaining power.
