Re: sunroof on 4.8
Hi Tinus - I never had a problem on any of my Patrols with leaking sunroof. There must be a broken/damaged seal or something.
Slightly off topic - Damn - I left my sunroof fully open on last night of the holiday at Ponta couple weeks back, there was a major rainstorm and the car was pretty well flooded next morning, luckily it was day I drove home so the heat from the engine etc dried everything. The switches for sunroof must have got drenched and the sunroof kept opening itself automatically every now and then and would not close unless I switched the ignition off and on again. Bit of a hassle I must say. When I got home everything was nicely dry, but next day same uncommanded opening of sunroof - so I disconnected battery for couple of hours and this seemed to reset the system and problem has gone. Re: sunroof on 4.8
I can look down on the patrol in teh driveway and I have notice water marks on the opaque section that slides through but i have not actaully seen it get wet. I am not sure if it is a fixed issue or only occurs in heavy rain.

Re: sunroof on 4.8
Mine does the same....
Not sure if it is the actual sunroof, but when it rains the area around the passenger handle on the roof is sopping and tends to drip if you go around a right turn...
Want to strip the column plastics to have a look from inside, but it seems that you need to loosen the dash to get it all out...

Adrian - I speak under correction, but I think I have removed the column plastic covers before without too much effort.

Re: sunroof on 4.8
Adrian, I assume the column plastic connects the same in yours as it does in mine. On the grab handle, there should be 2 little plastic flappy lids to cover the screws that hold the handle to the steel column. If you lift the flap, remove the big screws, then you have to gently pry the plastic cover off from the top. it has 2 ( may be 3, can't quite recall) clips that keep it in place. Mine were quite a swine to get out. I lifted it away just enough to get a long flat screwdriver in to assist wiggling the clip loose. No dash removal necessary... just the rubber running around the area or the column.
Regards
Cedric

Re: sunroof on 4.8
I do have the same problem: after moderate rain water drops are leaking out of the switch/ light assembly in the ceiling.
When looking at the sunroof a bit more thoroughly I saw that it's frame is quite corroded on the front left edge. Do I guess correctly that I would have to remove the whole inside roof cover to get to that part?
I am about to order a new seal for the sunroof (130€, not good). Do you think, that should help?
