Lumeno LEDS

Hi Folks,
I have fitted a number of Lumeno LED strips to my offroad trailer and tent set up and am very happy with the result. Am keen to replace my 4800 GRXs interior light's globes with the festoon LED version also made by Lumeno (imported /distributed by Fox & Sons)... anyone here tried this yet?
Also... my troll... like rest of same model.. has crappy rear lights and stop lights in bumper while the main cluster is globeless and thus useless... any views on how to rig these to work.
Thanks
Peter

Hi Peter,
I also want to replace my interior lights with LED's. Looks nice and less power consumption ( especially when my kids don't close the door properly..... and the light glows allllllllllll night.
Those body tail lights..... I did mine before my boss drove into the back of me one night. Got a new set from UAE, via Wilfred, for easily half the price and theses included the globes and indicator lights.... basically a plug and play.
But going back to your original set, you get the globe holders from Midas.... gently cut a hole in the light backing and spot silicone it in place. Then the crappy part is where I went wrong.... I cut the existing plug from the wiring harness off.... don't do that.... strip insulation and connect each relevant wire to the correct globe. ( should you manage to get tail lights like mine... you will thank me when all you have to do is just plug it in )

But getting back to the the existing tail lights. On the one side there is a reverse light and on the other there is a red lens. I made that a fog light. I ran a new live wire from the little yellow fog lights I fitted a few years back. This was handy cause of the crappy bottom bumper lights. Then I made the normal tail lights the bottom red lens as well as a stop/brake light. The top I made a brake light only. Some guys here have made the top red lens an indicator.... so the choice is yours... the wiring harness is right there ( except for the fog light )

Thanks Cedric, exploring the UAE option first is what I will do.

No problem.....
personally I think this is by far the best option...... you will have legal indicators and the back end of the patrol will be seen !!!

Peter, I have LED'd my interior lights, although I did not get mine from Fox and Sons but from Mark on the Hilux-forum.
I have had them in for about a year and am very happy. The certainly make a lot more light, and no modidfaction was necessary.
I do have Lumeno strip lights in my RTT, and am very happy with their quality.

Replaced all mine, including the map reading lights in the roof console. Even replaced the interior light in the National Luna fridge/freezer.
Works a charm - their brighter and I don't have to worry about batteries running down when leaving a door open

Thanks Christo - good idea on map reading lights!
Tinus - I found the guys in Aus that are selling pre-wired versions for AUS $ 189... +/- ZAR1200.00 excl shipping. I have a very good pal who is MD of an airline there and am going to find out how to get the reg version and get it back here.
Cheers,
Peter
