Intercooler

Post by Alf »

I'm new on the website, but have seen under previous topis that there was a 2001 Patrol 3.0Di GRX which had a intercoller upgrade with some positive results in power and economy. I also have the 2001 Disel, but cant find a supplier who can do such an alteration - anyone knows where this can be done?
Thanks
Alf

Hi Alf en Grootseun,

I am in PE and must urgently replace my intercooler on my 2001 3.0 D due to numerous small cracks in the pipes.

Nissan say must import at over R20K. Last imported part took 3 months so not an option even if the price was acceptable!

I seem to recall that somewhere on either this forum or the Aussie forum there was reference made to an aftermarket intercooler with welded seams?

Any advice and assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Rodney

Rodney , the direct fit aftermarket coolers come to a penny if you import them i researched that option
I ended up fitting and adapting a race spec one myself and it works sweet

I do however have my old one , i origanlly thought it had a leak as i saw some oil seapage in the corner but ended up it was a pipe that leaked
I am prepared to sell it as there is just no way ill go back to the OE one with what i have in now

PM me if youre interested , also having a second cooler makes it easy to have a fab shop fab up some ally tanks for it while you still have the use of your vehicle
