Hi All
I test drove a 2003 4.8 GRX today and tried to engage the diff-lock on a patch of gravel. I put it in 4 low and switched on the diff-lock. I went forward and backward, left and right, in circles, but the diff-lock and ABS lights just kept on flashing. Tried it again in 2wd and again the lights were just flashing.
In which drive modes should the diff-lock work and should the light flash, or light up solid once it has engaged?

Re: 2003 4.8 GRX diff-lock
On my old 4.5 the diff lock works in 4H and 4L, but not in 2H. The ABS light keeps flashing, but the diff lock light stops flashing and remains lit when the diff is actually locked. I think the 4.8 works the same.

Re: 2003 4.8 GRX diff-lock
When the difflock is selected on, the ABS light will flicker to show you that the ABS is disengaged. Once the difflock is engaged, the difflock light will stay on.
Sometimes the switch on the rear diff that controls the light gets stuck and when the difflock is engaged the switch still causes the light to flicker because the pin in the switch is stuck and can not move out to indicate that the difflock is engaged.
