Re: AAWDC - Calling ALL 4x4 Owners
Herewith the details for the Charity Day:
1) The charity of choice is the South African Red Cross.
2) Donations can be delivered to any LA Sport branch nation wide, before or on 4 June. Each branch will have a collection point available. See www.lasport.co.za for branches.
3) 4x4 clubs should arrange their own meeting point, then travel to the nearest LA Sport branch before 12h00 (13h00 is normally closing time). Or meet at the branch, at a set time. This is at the club’s discretion, and to be arranged by individual clubs.
4) Thereafter, the club members can decide how/where to proceed. Regional clubs are urged to hold joint events, to foster inter club relationships.
5) For Gauteng, and near Gauteng, clubs – the meeting point is the LA Sport Pretoria East track (site of last year 's AAWDC Fun Day). From 10h00 to 14h00. A shortened track will be set up, which can be driven, at a reduced cost . Longer drives are also available, at normal cost of R280/day .
6) The Nissan 4x4 club will marshall the agreed obstacles from 10h00 onwards, to ensure a smooth flow of vehicles. One attempt per obstacle only, to speed up proceedings. Decisions of marshalls will be binding upon all participants.
7) Club gazebos, flags, can be put up, on the rim of the quarry, on a first come, first serve basis. Sites will be demarcated with banner tape. Only 4x4 vehicles will be allowed to park around the track , all other vehicles to park at the gate.
8) Club vehicles to park facing the quarry, in rows radiating out from the quarry, for the 14h00 ‘most 4x4s in one place’ photo.
9) The track will close its gates for further vehicle entry at 15h00, and all clubs/vehicles to vacate the site by 16h30.
10) Clubs are urged to ‘kuiken-parade’ their area of all rubbish, on the ‘take out what you bring in’ principle.
11) Ablutions will be provided.
12) All clubs to supply own food and drinks.
13) Excessive consumption of alcohol is frowned upon, for the safety of all attendees, and other drivers on their way home.
14) We request that club members stick the A4 flyer up in two of the side windows of their vehicles, and perhaps the rear window, to provide a rolling advertisement for the day.
Any further questions can be directed to the Nissan 4x4 Club:
