TD42 Starter Motor - 24V
Two weeks ago my starter motor started playing up. The solenoid engages when I turn the key, but the starter motor will not always spin. It has finally got to the stage that she will not start at all. I have checked the batteries and earth connection and all appears to be in order. Any suggestions on what the problem could be?

Hello Adrian
I would firstly suspect the brushes on the starter motor. I had a similar problem a little while ago, ended up refurbishing the starter for R250.00

Re: TD42 Starter Motor - 24V
Hello Adrian
Not sure I really want to recomend this guy, he is a real back-yard mechanic. In the end I had to go and "help" him finish the job. To give him his due though, it was the 24th of December.
Any decent auto-electrician should be able to do the job though.
Cheers
Peter

Ja, dis mos a trok. Hopefully I can get it repaired cheaply, I would hate to know the cost of an imported starter.

Re: TD42 Starter Motor - 24V
The starter motor is working again after hitting it couple of times with a hammer out of frustration.
There really is not space under the hood to get the the starter motor bolts!

Dis dan heel moontlik die borsels wat klaar is - het die selfde probleem by Vic Falls gehad. Jy kan die borsels los koop by Breno.
