Hi Guys, does anybody know how to replace these belts?
I have tried and succeeded halfway in replacing the 2 fanbelts and one belt for the oilpump but the belt for the aircon pump baffles me.
Detailed instructions for a "mechanically handicapped" person please!
Thanks.
Christo Muller.

Re: Replacing V Belts
Hi,
I'm not familiar with the 4.5's layout but on the 4.8l we have a an idler pulley that is accessible from the bottom. You need to undo the bolt in the center of the of pulley, not remove it, just undo it a turn or two, then you need to remove the tension by undoing the tension bolt enough so the belt will slip off.

Hi Stefnie
It is like Andries's picture shows. Loosen the centre nut on the Idler pulley (it is a long nut and if I remember correctly it takes a 12 or 14mm spanner. Then slack off the adjusting screw on the pulley, it is reached from the top. You will need a socket with a long (200mm) extension to do that.
Cheers

Thank you guys, all went well thanks to your sketch John and to my wife's tiny hands! I cursed these Japanese who makes it very frustrating to work within such confined spaces!
