Sani Pass

Post by Wilfred Moore »

Hi, does anybody know if Sani Pass is closed or not. I heard this morning there was a land slide in the pass and it is closed. I am planning a trip for Easter Weekend, up Sani Pass.

Hello wilfred

I don't know, but there is a guy who uses 8 old GQ trolls to take tour groups up and down Sani pass, I am sure he will be able to tell you.

Thaba tours, 033 701 2888

Anyway Sani is an important pass and those guys get lots of practise clearing slides, I am sure it will be re-opened before Easter?
Good luck
Peter

Thanks Peter, I will contact him. I will phone you one of these days regarding the spares. Trip now planned to Abu Dhabi towards the end of March. Just received my Fan viscous coupling from there for R980 instead the R3500 from Nissan SA.

I saw pics of the land slide, flippen hectic. I coudn;t believe it was the road i was looking at, totally demolished and covered very very deep in massive rocks and boulders, looked like the flippen rubicon trail in US!

Couple guys on BMW GS adv's bikes convinced the border officials to let them through, they had a hell of a tough time .
