Bolt-on or Weld-on

Hello
I bought some recovery points that need to be fitted onto the front of my Patrol. They have 3 holes drilled into the flat part that should be on the chassis.
It would seem to be a lot simpler to disconnect the batteries and weld the points to the chassis. The alternative is to drill 3 holes in the chassis, creating possible points for rust, and then to somehow get a bolt through and tighten it.
If it is done well I have never been disappointed in the strength of a piece of steel that is welded together, on the other hand the force on that welding during a Kinetic rope recovery or a winch operation must be considerable.
Your inputs will be appreciated.
IJM

Standard "recovery" points on our patrols.,.....ripped off the chassis during a recovery no doubt......not exactly up to spec. I still cant believe that purpose built 4wd vehicles are not equipped with meaty points as standard.

Why cant one bolt it ....AND weld it!
