Post by Tiny Howarth »

Good evening Ladies and gents

I have had my van for 11 years now and finally I fitted a Madman EMS3 today, on a short drive home from the electrical shop i was getting boost in 4th gear under 3000rpm of 1.2bar is this not to high?

Would really appreciate inputs

Kind regards Tiny

No.
I get that at sea level.
Some of the hotter 4.2's boost over 1.5

Good morning Peter
Thank you for the reply, I will try adapt to a good driving style that keeps the boost below 1bar, scared I might damage the engine, I am to old now to redo engine. :oldtimer: :rolling:

You've been boosting at 1.2 bar for 11 years, I don't believe you should be concerned.

I was going to say something along these lines.
I don't think boost in itself really adds wear to an engine.

However, more torque output undeniably accelerates wear on everything between the flywheel and the road...
