Not to hijack the thread or anything, but I got a price for my 4.8's air filter yesterday, almost R700 Holy crap!

If you know anyone that travels to UAE now and then - ask them to buy for you... its R200 there!

I have a 4.5 airbox that I wanted to fit onto my TD42. The filter has a bigger surface area and the airbox looks a little more cyclonic ( may be wrong on that though ).... Does anyone know the GUD or similar non OME part number for a replacement filter??

Cedric, I have searched and phoned just about everywhere I could think off, but it seems air filters for the 4.5 and 4.8 are only to be bought from Nissan themselves. Would be awesome if someone out there did know of an alternative!

It realy would be nice if we could source(or import) these filters for cheaper...

I dont think this will be worth while, sure R450 is quite allot for an air filter, but you only change it every 15,000km or maybe even 20,000km if you dont drive to much dirt roads so its not all that bad really.

Om in te voer is seker te veel moeite om n paar rand te spaar. Hier is my filter na 10k km's.
Met die snorkel nou op, behoort die nuwe een seker heelwat langer te hou.

Ja dit is nogals baie vuil vir net 10,000km. Hejy nie gese daar was n lek op jou intake pyp gewees nie? Dit kan verduidelik hoekom hy so buil is.
Met die snorkel sal hy baie langer hou, ek het myne noudie dag skoon geblaas na 10,000k en hy was nog heel gaaf

Ja daar was n gaping tussen die filter housing en die engine wall. So die meeste lug was afkomstig vanaf die engine bay..

On the topic of changing engine oil: Is it necessary to flush the engine first? Or just drain and re-fill?
