Re: TD42 engine assembly
Ok so at long last my Patrol is running!!!!!
But let me continue with the story before I get to the end.

Re: TD42 engine assembly
Finally I could now put the head on the block where it belongs.
Unfortunately with all the rush to get the engine assembled I never tightened the injector pipes on the pump so I cranked and cranked and cranked end the diesel just never got to the injectors. After solving the loose injector pipes the battery was shot.
So I had to bring in my wife's car with jumper cables to help out with some extra power. After the injectors were bled and smoke started coming from the exhaust it still didn't want to start which could only mean one thing........ Glow Plugs!!
So indeed the main fuse for the glow plugs were blown so I had to bypass it (not really a safety first mod, but desperate times...)
when I turned the key after the glow plug fix it fired up and ran like a dream.... no misfires of anything. Idling was perfect and the engine sounded beautifully!

Re: TD42 engine assembly
So ja die volgende stap was natuurlik die intercooler.
