Het gister middag my agter fender flares en agter bumper terug gesit. Het hulle matt balck gemaak..... dink hulle het mooi uit gekom.

Ok so at long last my Patrol is running!!!!! :blonde:

But let me continue with the story before I get to the end.

So ek het maar besluit om die lang naweke te gebruik om my wa aan die ry te kry en ek is bly ek het dit gedoen

Omdat ek n nuwe head gekoop het met nuwe valves was dit nie nodig om n engineer te betaal vir iets wat ek self kan doen nie, so ek het self die valves ge lap en self die head aanmekaar gesit. Ek het ook n custom tool gekry (jack handle) om die head aanmekaar te sit wat die job baie makliker gemaak het.

Finally I could now put the head on the block where it belongs.

Ek moes ook vinger alleen die engine terug in die Patrol kry en ek moet se dit is eintlik nie n job wat jy alleen moet doen nie. Maar nie te min het ek dit reg gekry.

My vingers het ge brand om daai sluetel te draai en ek het so gou moontlik die starter en drade op gesit om te begin crank. Gelukkig het ek die olie pomp ge grease so die olie pressure was kort voor lank daar en kon ek begin met die diesel sisteem.

Unfortunately with all the rush to get the engine assembled I never tightened the injector pipes on the pump so I cranked and cranked and cranked end the diesel just never got to the injectors. After solving the loose injector pipes the battery was shot.
So I had to bring in my wife's car with jumper cables to help out with some extra power. After the injectors were bled and smoke started coming from the exhaust it still didn't want to start which could only mean one thing........ Glow Plugs!!

So indeed the main fuse for the glow plugs were blown so I had to bypass it (not really a safety first mod, but desperate times...)
when I turned the key after the glow plug fix it fired up and ran like a dream.... no misfires of anything. Idling was perfect and the engine sounded beautifully!

So ja die volgende stap was natuurlik die intercooler. Ek het nie doekies om gedraai nie en het sommer n oordentlike groot intercooler gaan koop wat behoorlik kan koud maak. 600 x 300 x 76 was die grootste een wat MRturbo in stock gehad het, toe vat ek hom natuurlik.

Die grootste werk was om plek te maak vir die cooler, ek wou hom so 50mm weg hou van die radiator en condenser sodat ek die my engine se voerkoeling beinvloed nie. Ongelukkig moes die aircon fan maar in die slag bly, maar ek dink nie dit is die einde van die wereld nie.
