OK so now it is all the other inputs as well

Mine gives me battery voltage
Oil pressure
Oil temp (transfer gearbox)
EGT
It will give alarm if the coolant level drop suddenly
I have removed the inclinometers they are silly

Oil pressure behave is also interesting. Cold pressure, start about 3.5bar, can go up to 4 bar. Hot pressure can idle at about 1.5 bar. This is what I referred to when explaining about the overrun, keeping the revs up using kinetic energy also supply the turbo with more oil.
My TC Box have reached 101deg once on a hot day. That is H2O boiling point with friction and heat conduction from the engine alone. I wonder what it must be like inside the main geabox, especially the autos. Have not done dunes since fitting, but I am looking forward to seeing what that does.
My Landy probably runs so hot because that is a 2.5 that push out 83kw when it was new. It is a strained engine, as all smaller forced induction diesels are. Think about the EGT in the VW Amaroks

As far as 750deg is concerned IMO way too high :naughty: . Safley set the temp at 650 you should be fine.

I also believe measuring PRE turbo, this gives a much more accurate reading, post turbo it has cooled by about 200deg

Hi JG,

To be fair Nissan did not fit the turbo to my car. With out the turbo I would agree, but with the turbo set up I have taken the risk away from Nissan and it is squarely on my shoulders. To minimize this I fitted an EGT set up that also give me peace of mind.

When you are driving in sand you must keep the revs up to keep the turbo cool - with a petrol you can keep the revs lower.

750 EGT is not way to high, its high but still save.If the car run at 750deg,your fuel consumption will be high.Over 750 closer to 800 things starting to get hot,but would not melt the engine.Meltdown will be easy @ 800deg if the oil temp is to high.

I have to dis agree. Our trolls especially the GQ's do not have the piston or combustion chambers that can handle a temp of 750C. This is with the after market turbo fitted. :slap: :slap:

I checked my Mac Ellery workshop book,... there are definite differences between a TD 42 , TD 42T and TD 42 Ti , particularly with regard to pistons, grudgeons ??? , and a couple other things that sound important.

I'm not implying anything just yet, but just saying, there is a mechanical difference between them.

So you are saying the material on a factory turbo are better  If I want to turbo my NA engine I must buy a turbo head  NO.
The pistons are diffirent on a turbo engine, the only diffirance are at the bottom of the piston and a bigger piston pin.Like Russ Said. The bottom design is to allow for better cooling from the oil.It has channels in the piston crown to allow oil to cool it down. The NA piston has the same type off cooling, but surface.
Anyway I just open myself to try explain how a engine work and what is best,so dont run your egt at 750 and I dont have to tell you why it is still ok.

Why do you think the ZD30 blow up.They are built for turbo. In a Factory. The first models did not have piston coolers!
Cheers

Frans, Is did moontlik om die Piston coolers na die tyd in te sit?

Stefan, die coolers sit in die blok.Alle blokke is dieselfde gegiet.

ok, dankie Frans.
