Hey guys I'm new here and stil learning the site. I would love to hear your thoughts and recommendations. I live in the Kalahari. The roads are sandy bumpy and corrugated. I have a 2007 GU 4.2 patrol safari naturally asperated pick up. It's a work horse and I use it as such. Towing trucks trailers and cruisers as well as carrying big loads and running with empty tray with basically only a 5%tar road use. I have monro shocks fitted buts they are in pieces after two months of use. Then they replace them because of the warentey. I asked for something stronger and the guys recommended Rancho shocks that are also imported by monro. What would you recommend. The truck is high enough and I'm running 285/75r16 tires that does not rub and gives great flotation in sand. I just worried that loading will become difficult once the suspension is lifted to much.
Hey bud, i've run TJM/XGS Gold on my Patrol Pickup for years and they have never ever lost oil nor gas, and i drive all kimds of conditions, all the time.
If i was to replace (on a standard shock budget),... ... i would try something new ,just for the sake of boredom. I would go for either Iron Man foam cell PRO, EFS Extreme, Dobinsons, or a combination of one of those in front, with Tough Dog adjustable shocks in the rear. but thats just me.
If money was no object i'd maybe go for remote reservoir kings, fox, ome BP51's or dobinsons.
But I believe in keeping things simple though, specially for a hard work horse no nonsense pickup like the Patrol, specially when you working remotely.
