Some good news. I towed my Conqueror to Pretoria yesterday for wheel alignment and tried towing in 4th. It made a massive difference to my fuel consumption as well as the hunting between gears. Consumption went from 3.2km/litre - 4.5 whilst towing. The Patrol is going to the dealers tomorrow to check gearbox oil level and to see if the kickdown could be adjusted. I do not believe they will be able to make a difference but time will tell.

happy to hear
they will not fix the kickdown becouse there is nothing wrong
a person forgets a 4.8 with a couple of bits is nearly 3 ton and now towing a heavy caravan or boat
