Stefaansie.
I'm getting another auto. As someone else said, it's just so convenient... Oh wait.. that was you!
After being quoted a hell of lot by Nissan and told I'll have to wait for that one too, Dirk at Koops sourced one for me for 3.5k. But now I'm playing the waiting game. :(

Re: Auto hub not lekker
The only time I ever wish I had auto hubs, is when I want to shove a taxi off the road, so probably I need to stick to manuals?

Mag ons ons kenniskry met lekkerkry aanhoukry.

Re: Auto hub not lekker
Absolutely! It is a simple fact of the way the autohubs operate that they will disengage and re-engage when the torque transmitted through the side shaft reverses. This happens gently when one stops after having driven forwards and then reverses, but it can happen somewhat brutally when the going is tough and wheels are lifting and gripping and slipping, etc. The impact loads that can then occur at the moment of engagement are definitely not desireable.XenoBlitz wrote:I think I might start advocating manually locking these hubs whenever possible to get out and do so before driving in 4x4.. that way we can extend the life on these?
I lock the autohubs with the wheel spanner whenever the going is worse than driving a dirt road/reasonable track. I view the autohubs as simply giving me the opportunity to slip into 4wd without coming to a standstill and getting out when I turn off the tar onto the gravel.
