I've done some surfing on the internet and found a place in Alberton that supply solenoids at a reasonable price.
The fittings that they supply is the type where you press the vacuum pipe inside of it.
I took 6mm fittings but it is too small, you need 8mm fittings (outside diameter of the vacuum pipe).
I then got fittings from Media Hydraulics in Pta where the pipe fits over the fitting.

I took the faulty solenoid out of the original holder and fitted the new solenoid with 2 screws on the outside of the holder.
I replaced one of the short vacuum pipes between the solenoid and the Y-junction on the vacuum supply side with a longer pipe.
The pipe from the diff was long enough to reuse.

I paid just under R350.00 for the solenoid and fittings and another R28.00 for Media's fittings.

So far the difflock is working well.

Details for solenoid and supplier:

2/2 way brass solenoid valve ¼” connection with 2mm orifice.
Normally closed 12V. The valve would open if solenoid is activated.
