Unfortunately the TD42 is just about the most sought-after (and thus expensive) engine of the lot (Patrol-wise anyway). Pity the block was left under a tree to rust.
It would probably be cheaper to fit a TB48. It would definitely be a lot cheaper to fit a TB42 or TB45.
The TB42, TB45 and TD42 all use the same mounting points, same clutch and same gearbox bolting. So it's literally radiator (which is probably due for replacement anyway), exhaust (same same) and wiring (and if TB45 or 48 also some sort of management system) and fuel piping and so forth.
If you are serious about finding a TD42, speak to Michael Steyn at Sojo Aotomotive.
Another option is to sell what's left, possibly to David Volschenk, and put that money toward a runner.
