Note the wood trimmings on the dash.
SA Spec GQs did not have that

So I am wondering?
Do you know if this engine runs on EFI or carburattor?

Hi,
As far as we were told this is the only one like this in South Africa.

It is fuel injection.

Nice to know, thanks Tinus. We were not sure as my father who was passionate has passed on. Any idea on the history, how many where imported?

Debbie, as far as we know these were not official (Nissan SA) imports, but were brought in by others. Malcolm's I seem to remember was driven here from the UK by an owner, and Christo Boegman's may have been an UNTAG vehicle imported from Namibia.
Back then, these things were a lot easier.

Having said that, yours is the only one I know of with "wood" on the dash.

There is even confusion about the origin of the much more common manual-gearbox-and-carburettor-engined models. At least some of them have data plates stating "Made in South Africa", but Nissan say they are grey imports...
Mag ons ons kenniskry met lekkerkry aanhoukry.
