Re: Mud Terrain Tyres
Hi Sandvoet
Welcome to the forum. I am planning to fit either the Achillies Desert Hawk XMTs like you are selling or the General Grabber X3s. I am interested in these 5 tyres, but a few questions first:
1. Why are you selling after 5000km?
2. What has your experience of the XMTs been?
3. How many mm of tread is left on the 5 tires?
Looking forward to your feedback.

Re: Mud Terrain Tyres
Hi,
I bought the car on Friday with them on and have therefore no experience concerning their performance. The previous owner said they've done about 5000km but they are basically still new. I will be using the Patrol to travel back and forth to my farm with mostly tar and gravel roads and I prefer the all terrain tire for this purpose. The MT's apparently have an effect on the fuel consumption as well.
I can measure the thread this afternoon and will keep you posted.

Re: Mud Terrain Tyres
Measured the tread very rough with tape measure and the spare wheel which is brand new measures 14 mm and the other tires 12 mm. Note that its not a very accurate measurement.
Tire Choice is currently putting on AT's for me and you can call them, speak to Wessie, to get an independent view of the condition of the tires. Nr 021 981 1171 They sell them new for R2700.
Make me an offer if you are interested as I am negotiable on the price.

Re: Mud Terrain Tyres
Hi Sandvoet
Thanks for the feedback. I'll find out the cost of transporting 5 tyres from Cape Town to Port Elizabeth and then advise if it's worth going ahead or not.
