Re: More Power
The problem is that those supercharger or turbo kits aren't exactly cheap. They could easily cost more than a V8.

Re: More Power
Gentleman gentleman, there is no substitute for cubic inches.
Anyway I have been down every avenue to see about getting more power out the old 4500. The turbo kit was the way I was going to go, but the conrods start failing after a certain time with the extra krag. A turbo kit will cost almost the same as the engine I have bought and I still would not have the power that I'm getting. Remember I can also start adding power to the LS2. A turbo here, nitros there!!!! I had so much fun with my LS1 powered jeep wrangler. There is no explaining good smooth fuel injected power.

Re: More Power
Alan
I agree
THERE IS NO REPLACEMENT FOR DISPLACEMENT.
.
I will eventually look into a straight six Cummins / Detroit diesel engine with twin turbos....But that is still in the far future

Re: More Power
Hey Sias.
The conversion is taking sometime. The motor has been paid for, but is still in Oz. We are bringing 4 engines in, so the one guy is busy getting his import/export lisence. This all goes through SARs so you can imagine it is taking sometime to get the motor. We are hoping that it will be happening in the next2 weeks. Then we can ship. We are not in a big hurry, but it will happen this year sometime. Also gives me the time to put all the adapters together from Marks 4WD in Oz as they have everything needed for the job. I went over to the States in December, so brought back the wiring harness and ECU. See pics below

Re: More Power
Alanvs - I saw a 6.0l LS2 motor on gumtree for R65000 and it was in Cape Town. Are you selling yours, or is it someone else?
How's the project going?

Re: More Power
Sias no it is not mine, cold be one of the others that brought them in. Mine is a bit on hold, bought a new house, so need to sell my 4.5 before I can carry on.
