Re: Tinus se 4.2TD bakkie!!
Alex.... + intercooler + piping + injector pump aneroid modification + (if watercooled) water piping + labour to move powersteering radiator around + removal of the aircon fan + modification to the exhaust...... not hugely expensive.... but not just a matter of fitting a turbo on the exhaust manifold either.
BUT when its done..... yeeeeeehaaaaaa.... she gonna pull like a freight train !!

Re: Tinus se 4.2TD bakkie!!
The labour in such a conversion is really allot. Having seen the amount of work required to fit a front mount cooler I can say for sure that I will not do this again.....for anyone. If I had to charge the amount of hours that it took it will not be worth it for the cliant.
Also the prices Tinus talked about excludes labour

Ek kan darrem maar baie ekstra liters petrol gooi vir daardie geld en hoef niks dop te hou nie, hoef ook nie toolbox saam te ry nie.

Re: Tinus se 4.2TD bakkie!!
Also keep one thing in mind, Tinus picked this Patrol up for a steal so even with all the expenses made it is still cheaper than any TD42 turbo bakkie for sale. They all sell for 170k+ if you can manage to find one.
Plus this one makes decent power

Re: Tinus se 4.2TD bakkie!!
In all fairness started with a broken engine so minus 25k for ingeneering 12k for new head less 3.5k for manifold and 3.5k for turbo rebuild ....
That comes out like 45k less ....i was serpose to started with a other 4.2 that was in better nick
