I just joined this forum and am very happy to find that you are practically going to be playing in my back yard.
I have visited Sandwani a couple times this last month due to wanting to use their facilities for training, the area shown in the pictures are just one side of the grounds, on the other side they have a very large area ideal for playing around and enjoying wild life as well as a lapa that is normally included in your day fee, there is also a 1/4 mile and a flat track
The cement route you have to fork out the big money were on the ground area it only cost R100 per vehicle and R50 per person, however this area is also limited to the amount of vehicles allowed to not disturb the animals too much.
Would really like to join you on that day but my patrol is spitting water from the pump, need a replacement.
NEW FLASH
The SANDWANI Day is on and fixed for Saturday 14 May 2016. The Nissan Offroad Owners Club Chairman, Glyn Demmer, has secured a sponsorship for the Academic Track. A maximum of about 50 vehicles can be handled of which the sponsors will use about 15 slots.
It promises to be an interesting day with some interesting obstacles/exercises and training. Once members have completed the Academic Track they will be able to go and play on the Offroad Trail across the road. This will however be for each driver's own account at a cost of R100 per vehicle plus R50 per person.
We are currently working on a potential sponsor to finance a basic meal for lunch. I will advise in due time.
There will also be some displays by a few sponsors with some prizes and items for sale at a reduce price. Drinks after the event will be for each person's own account.
Christo van Rensburg will do a presentation on radios, antennas and licensing. This is a very useful presentation and worth the while to attend.
We need a few volunteers to assist with some marshaling tasks on the day of the event (See the list below).
This event each year is very popular and therefore members should book their slots as soon as possible.
I am therefore starting a two lists as indicated below. Please copy, post and add your name or correct the list. I need to advise SANDWANI of the numbers expected within the next two weeks.
