Hi fellow Patrollers,
I went off-roading in Irene yesterday afternoon and damaged my steering damper.
Someone doesn't have a steering damper (for a Y61, 2004, 4.8 GRX) gathering dust, up for grabs?

Do you notice any difference without the steering damper / or with damaged steering damper?
There has been oil leaking out of my 4.2's damper for a few months now, would be surprised if it still working the way it should..

My Steering damper's casing has a couple of knocks/ scratches after yesterday.
Turning the steering wheel either left or right was very difficult and there was also some strange noises from the front of the Trol (while turning). I was able to drive home, but the Trol would not centre the steering by itself. Once I removed the steering damper the Trol's steering returned to normal.
I cannot move the shaft of the steering damper by hand.
Hope this will help you?

Thanks Pieter.
Fanus I have only driven the Patrol to work and back, and I could not feel a difference. I have however not gone over 80km/h as I only do town driving.

My 4.5 se steering damper het threaded pins op al twee kante. Ek neem aan dus pin-to-pin. Hoe lyk die 4.8 s'n ?
