crank sensor

Post by nick vc »

Hi out there fellow Patrolers

My 30td started jerking badly . Plugged it in at mechanic's laptop and it said "error crank sensor" . Now a new one costs R1200 , not the end of the world , but will take 4 to 6 weeks backorder from Japan . We took the old one out and cleaned it , it was full of grime , and the troll go's a bit better , but still jerks /looses power . My question before I pay for and order the part is : Have any of you had crank sensor problems ??? My other is , would anyone happen to have one spare by any slim chance ???!!!And would consider selling it .

Waterberg Regards

Nick

I had to replace mine a few years back, sorted the problem. Put pressure on the stealer to get it in faster - phone head office...

Nick -- also clean the MAF sensor [careful with those tiny wire coils] Clean the Intercooler AND have the injectors calibrated [a reputable BOSCH agency]
Do you have an EGT installed ?? VERY VERY important on the 2001 ZD 30 engines .. and have the OE ECU checked by Nissan [also let them check against your VIN number if you qualify for the ECU replacement by the factory .. Some of the early ECU on the ZD 30 in the Patrol and a few Hard Body] were programmed for Europe conditions .. and Africa is MUCH different
