So that settles it then....hahahaha ... real trucks don't have spark plugs !!! :rolling: :rolling: :rolling: :rolling:

What a FANTASTIC DAY !!!!! Marnus and Peter, a HUGE thank you to both of you. Marnus, you organised the perfect "boy" time.... Looking forward to seeing all the results !!!

One thing that is evident straight off the bat, from a 4.2 petrol to the 4.8 petrol and the 3.0 diesel to the 4.2 diesel, there is not much of a difference between any of them. The 3.0 diesel ( Juice ) proved that even a "small" diesel can out idle anything on an uphill. The petrol can beat the diesel in speed around a rally course, and all of us can pull a train of Patrols up an obstacle. Even when the guys pranked me and applied brakes causing me to sit stationary with 4 wheels slowly spinning ( sneaky buggers...... :rolling: :rolling: :rolling: )

The rally track was quite something, I knew deep in my heart that the diesels would not fair well here, however after a few guys went through the track posting what I assumed to be good times, I took the Iron Maiden with Graham ( Pathfinder ) as my Navi through its paces...... Goodness gracious great balls of black diesel smoke.... we kamakazi'ed our way to a 4:23..... and when I got out the Iron Maiden I was shaking so much that going for a pee at that point would not be advisable :rolling: :rolling: :rolling: ..... If I recall, the fastest time was 4:18, so seeing as that was only 5 seconds off the pace, I had to try again, and with Greg as my Navi this time, and a pep talk to the Iron Maiden, I sped off and I kissed the apex and slid that 3ton beast around hairpin bends and hit the finishing line in a 4:21...... That's 3 seconds !!!

Are the diesels that slow.... hell no,...... are the Diesels better than the Petrols..... hell no..... are the Petrols better than the diesels.... hell no.....

BUT

Real trucks don't have spark plugs !!!!

The debate will never end but today proved that it doesn't matter, diesel or petrol...... we all drive the best vehicles by far !!!!
