Diesel vs Sparks

Hello Patrollers,

Bad news- The WOMZA rally has been cancelled. Good news: No problem!

The event will still be taking place !!
When: Saturday 20 September, 08h00 to start first runs 09h00
Where: Bapsfontein Hotel
Entry fee: R20 per person! (Diesels R5/vehicle , Petrol vehicles free of charge.)
Stealth charges: R180 pp (see below, there is some conditions to the entry fee.)

IMPORTANT: We do not have to pay for the 4x4 track or the rally track, but we must buy our meet and drinks at the hotel bar. They have braai facilities and your R20 will go towards some pap en sous etc.
HENCE, besides fuel, budget about R200 for the day!

There is a rally track and a 4x4 track. There will be 4 items each vehicle has to compete in, and I will just go and view the tracks and see what is possible.

I have received some items to give away as prizes, thanks for this sponseship from SMP products (aerosol lubricants, cleaning solvents etc)
I have resolved the weighted sledge.

We have an independant (but Toyota/diesel orientated ) adjudicator.

We need the following, if anybody can help:
Stop watches
Two way radios
First aid kit and proper first-aider?
Volunteers to make some salad for the braai.
Knowledgable volunteers to help me with the navigator route notes.

The guys must enjoy the day sounds like fun, this patroller won't be joining but will be stretching his legs doing the Soddies run . Hope there will be plenty of 4.8s though.

Bapsfontein is just East North East of Kempton, about 25km off the R21 at the R25/R21 Junction. I.e. about 30km from OR Tambo

Where is the Bapsfontein Hotel ? (apart from in Bapsfontein )

Valid question, Bapsfontein being the metropolis it is - I'll post google Maps directions after I inspected the site Saturday. But work on Bapsfontein and add another 2mins 14 seconds to your ETA and you should be fine!

Marnus, ek ken Bapsfontein en ek sou baie bekommerd wees as ek moes betaal vir wie ek "meet" daar

Ek sal daar wees om te kyk hoe die karre doen wat hulle nie voor ontwerp was nie.
