A QUESTION ABOUT RATTLES

Post by Vellies »

A good friend of mine used to have a 3.0 D Patrol. I do not recall the model but it may have been a mid 2000,s model, probaby with the old dashboard still.

When driving on rocky / gravel roads the Patrol really did rattle badly. Sommer all over on the inside.

Is it still the same with latter models i.e. 2010 / 2011 etc ?

I think rattles are relative...driving in a LC recently I thought I had rattles the LC was way way way worse. As long as my car doesn't rattle on tar I'm happy.

Here 100% agree, my rattles were caused by Nissan resetting my radio code  couple tubs of superglue and

My Patrols has 200000km on the clock and not one rattle (and I drive some really bad dirt roads) the only bits that rattle are add on's (draw system, fridge, side awning and my teeth on the dirt road out to the farm!!!) :blonde:

Thank you Gents for your contributions.

Maybe the Patrol I referred to had a history of sorts, one will never know - my friend did get it at a very special price at the time.

I concur with Tinus here. Mine had rattles. I stripped the complete interior other than the upper dash and steering wheel, replaced all the broken and missing plastic clips that had obviously been removed and broken by people doing aftermarket fitments. Not a single rattle and she is 16 years old with almost 200 000 km on the clock..... Also wrapped, cable tied and mounted all aftermarket things like alarm box and central locking box as well as refitted radio properly.............

Yip, The only things that can rattle are any aftermarket things not properly secured. I HATE a rattle in a car, and my Iron Maiden has traveled on some really bad roads in its life with me, and not a rattle to be heard. These vehicles are very well put together!!
