4.8 aircleaner

Couple of questions from me on this guys:

How the heck do I get the aircleaner box on the 4.8 open? Took the centre screw out but couldn't get the thing open despite a good tug. Must I tap the rim with a plastic hammer?

Stuck my hand in the intake and felt the circular metal plate and saw the rubber valve on the underside. Am I correct that its a cyclonic setup?

Clem, the plate on the one end is integral part of the filter unit.
I will take a pic of a spare I have and post it below.
