Performance on rocks depends on the mix settings on the ECU.
I had mine reset recently. Much much better on rocks. Almost crawls by itself. Better than I have seen other petrols do.
Francois, in the Gauteng area I can meet with you to have a look at a converted model.
I know what to look out for.
Whether it is worthwhile will all depend on the conversion itself.
The other point to consider is that converted vehicles generally do not fetch good trade in values, due to all the trappings that may go with it.
So if you know what to look for you may get good value.
Having said that a good condition 4.5 is currently also very reasonably priced.
