For interest, does anybody know what is the biggest size winch you can fit in a standard bumper? I also see the patrol manual shows a factory fitted winch as an option. Pity we don't get that option here is Sa.

From my limited experience the common winches all share the same mounting and basic dimensions from 8000lb - 12000lb.
Mag ons ons kenniskry met lekkerkry aanhoukry.

Gents,
Depends on the space so I have 12500 lbs which on a custom made winch plate as none available from suppliers. Aussie like the high mount and they often fit on the top of the bar. Low mount for inside the bumper.

Can you fit a winch on the inside of the patrol pickup's bumper? (Standard oem bumper).

Fanus
When I asked the agents in Pretoria , I got told that the big area inside the oe bumper is essential for cooling air flow and should not be restricted.
I custom built brackets and the winch now sits directly in front of the metal part above the air intake.
That winch works a lot as we use it when pulling out borehole pumps and have had no issues yet.
Judging the distance when parking is more of a challenge.
Chris.
