Re: My first Patrol :)
Gavin, look underneath.
If the fuel tank has rounded corners and a thin sheetmetal plate underneath, it's probably the standard unit. If it has sharp/square corners and no bash plate, it's a replacement and probably holds around 130-140l (not considering the sub tank).
These oversize tanks typically go a long way before the gauge starts registering.

Thanks chaps, my needle only starts moving after around 205km, but then it laat-waai's!! &%$#!!
Now on half and around 450km on the clock. Want to drive out this tank and calculate the consumption, then do that PVA mod. Any of you guys done that one?
Also I wanna mount my VHF radio, its a Kenwood TK7102, but have no idea where to put it, any ideas?
Thanks!
Gav

PVA MOD
Got my 4.8 back yesterday afternoon,my mechanic did the PVA and cruise control mods as per the Aussies.
WOW a new beast has emerged the power from low down is great as well as the overall responsiveness .
The cruise control now works in tiptronic a far better option.
Have not had a chance to check the fuel but will post results
A BIG thanks to Tinus for his help
