Well this is good news guys, I worried a bit about the km's on the clock, but I reckon if the UN thinks theyre good for 600000km+ in Africa, then 200000km is not so much :)

Well all systems go so far, financing in place and contract signed, shooting up to Witbank tomorrow morning to test drive/collect :) Okay okay, I'm excited ;)

It doesn't have an aftermarket suspension in and apparently the stock suspension is not so lekker, what you guys suggest? Bear in mind, im on a bit of a budget here. Years ago I put Ironman in my Defender and I thought it was fantastic, but the patrol is a whole other (heavier) beast ;)

Hi

I have Ironman on my 4.8 and have had no problems.I use it exclusively for trips to Zambia and Bots ,loaded it is brilliant .Tinus advised me to fit 285 and this
has also given me a better quality ride.Dont worry about the mileage,I got rid of my 4,0 Prado with 106Kms and bought my 4,8 with 212kms.No comparison
off road.Fuel will be heavy I get 3.8 to 4.2 km/l off road.But what a vehicle

Blitz, I read a test that seems to indicate that Tough Dog is about the best of the "standard aftermarket" systems.

There is actually nothing wrong with the standard suspension though, although because the Patrol has quite a long wheelbase, it does scrape it's belly once in a while and a lift will help with this.
Mag ons ons kenniskry met lekkerkry aanhoukry.

Sharp, thanks guys. Will have a look at tough dog, don't know them at all. Ironman I do know and remember from that time that was the cheapest among the bunch for the Defender. Will check it out. Will post a pic of my patrollie sometime over the weekend once ive got it, must just find the right section! Its a labyrinth out here ;)

Hi guys,

Okay shot through to Witbank this morning, and checked out the patrol. Very lekke!! Rear bumper loose from a bump, bracket broke, so must fix. Also a fuel leak coming from above the pipes that lead from the fuel caps to the tanks. Not sure where this is coming from, but no effect on the gauge on the road back. Anyway as you could probably derive, I did take the patrol :)

Woww what a different drive to the TDV6! Lots of growl on that motor (it has branches). Auto box a bit erratic when on cruise, but will do the Cruise control mod, and then prob the PVA one as well.

Will post a photie on the introduce yourself section shortly, seeing as I actually now have a patrol :)

Thanks for the lekker advice you guys, I'm gonna love this tank aren't I? :blonde:
