Hi

Dit het gewerk, jammer oor die swak terugvoer. Waar my kar 1300-1400 geluier (idle  ) het as hy kout was, luier hy nou 1000. As hy warm is, is dit 600-800. Klink baie beter.

Ons was so 2 weke terug in die Drakensberge en my petrol verbruik was 6-6.5km/l.

Ek dink dit is iets wat n mens saam met elke diens kan doen net om seker te maak alles is 100%

Hoop dit help Tim

Good Morning Gents

I have just joined the Nissan Forum and is very stupid as far as mechanical experience is concerned . I have bought myself a 2001 Patrol EFi GRX -Auto ( Petrol).I need some advice on the following issues:

1. What kind of Fuel consumption can I expect for this Patrol doing open road @ +_ 110 KM ?

2.I had problem were the Battery power just started to drop during a short trip to Town. It caused the engine to stop. I had the patrol taken to a Auto elec who told me it was just a very flat battery which they recharged. On the trip back home it started to drain power again. No light came on for the altenator so why does it not charge the Battery ?
3. What is the best Fuel Type (Petrol Leaded or not ) for this engine as well as oil.Living on the coast.
4.I do have massive oversize Kumo Tyres on the vechile which I will have to change to help with Fuel consumption. Any advice on whats best ?
5. Any problems that I should look out for on this spesific Patrol . It has 140 000km on the clock

I would appreciate all the advice I can get.

Welcome Pieter, but you really should start your own thread rather than hi-jacking someone else's.

Anyway,
1) The fuel consumption is written on the door.
2) Definately sounds like you have a problem. It could be the wire to the warning lamp or even the globe itself? However, if the battery has a dead cell or two, it might also give you these symptoms. Use a multimeter to check the voltage on the battery. While the engine is running, you should measure at least 13.5Volt. If it's less, the problem is with the charging system, if it's more, the battery is kaput.
4) What do you call massive?
Mag ons ons kenniskry met lekkerkry aanhoukry.

Just check if there is enough water in the battery!
