Oom Mac,
Jy ry dan a Toyota. Hopefully the dealership got feedback and are now very embarrassed. Naming and shaming is a very drastic option. As we all know the wheel turns and sooner or later you will need assistance.
Rather send a letter to DP informing him of the situation and what transpired.

Re: shudder while turning

Re: shudder while turning
Oupa Mac,
Just go to Santon Wollies and do a demo for the ladies in the parking lot explaining how they can drive over and park on pavements. They will buy it immediately.

Sure I understand, but you had similar problems with your turbo on your hard body for months and overheating. Sure we and this includes technicians from Nissan, do not know everything and often all the experience is lost in the dealership when the experienced guys move on or retire.
The learning process needs to start all over again. We have identified that the biggest threat to our potential business is the skill and number of service personnel we have. Being an “appy” is not cool today, as everybody wants to work on computers. Good artisans are as scarce as hen’s teeth.
The best resolution is to name the dealer but not to shame them. Rather contact them and show them what was wrong and how you fixed it. They would learn and not make the same mistake again. Imagine if our fathers
named and shamed us instead of teaching
us.
We all know that Nissan and it’s dealer struggle to sell Patrols and this then creates a problem when it comes to getting good knowledgeable service centres.

Re: shudder while turning
Hi Grant
I haven't given feedback to them yet. My dad is first making 100% sure its sorted by having a nice break in Kruger! When he comes back I will contact the dealership. The guys who "worked" on it even went to Nissan in Rosslyn for "advice" and they all said it's NOT the diff oil after we said try it. They also posted on their internal forum and had no hits. Basically my dad has lost confidence entirely in the workshop from an honesty perspective too. Previously it went in at +-1500km we asked them to check the diff and they said they did! Yet to open the plug we struggled immensely and could see it was never opened as it was still painted we had to use a torch...so back at 1500 they said yes but didn't now they say no yet it was...
Sad cause this specific Nissan always gave me great service with the Xtrail, Terrano, Pathfinder, Np200, Sani and others...gees loads of Nissans
anyways.
