The driver of the Toy looked very competent! I have no doubt you'd be able to do ALL the obstacles there.offroadbiker wrote: I couldnt be exactly sure whether the bakkie would make it, sure the Patrol wouldve been fine as it is just that bit wider and would heve been able to et the wheels where I would think it should have gone.

Hi Dieselfan.
I Fail to see the relevance about your comment on the fact that we cheered the Hilux.
Infact all of my good friens received a cheer and aplause after completing the obstacle. This includes 2x Patrols with Lexus engines a Ranger as well as the Range Rover that found the going a bit tough.
Give credit where it is due. In my opinion the Hilux went about this obstacle in a very nice and smooth manner and set the example to the rest of us on how it should be done.
Tha Navara did it just as well and I was preveliged enough to meet the driver afterwards when we had lunch. He will also receive my acknowledgement in future as I regard him as a personal friend now.
Maybe a 4x4 outing is more about the friendships that are bonded and not the brand of vehicles we drive or prefer as individuals.

My take is that Roy's (Dieselfan) comment was rather innocent.
Everybody knows and respects the hillux. Even Patrol drivers.
On Nissan outings, I have often found we tend to cheer on the non-Nissan brands a bit more. I don't think that the possible surprise of them "making it" is the reason.

Re: Hennops 27 Jan
I second that Alex.... Us Nissan guys tease the _____ out of other Nissan guys... but when other brands join us, there is a genuine mutual respect. There will always be banter between brands.... if there wasn't then there is something wrong...ha ha... but will ALWAYS be done in good spirits. I believe an experienced driver can perform miracles with a normal vehicle, and a inexperienced driver can performed miracles in a Nissan......
( that's me )
The whole thing comes down to..... Did you guys have fun?... and was all the fun in good spirits?..... If I know the Nissan guys....absolutely !!
