Grant, while I have not been to Verneukpan, I have a lot of family in that area, so keep your eye out for the Connan clan.

And while I have yet to get to the Baviaanskloof, my mother was born there. Her father was the forester there in the 50's. My mom and dad were there a couple of years ago and may be able to furnish some more info.

If you are going that far then you must get dadeballe at the Poffadder petrol station. Best in the world! Then you absolutely have to go to Klein Pella, sometimes just called Pella. And find out who built the church there, what they knew about building and how they built it and what is happening to it now. And of course when. Its an incredible piece of South Africa.......
