Nissan Patrol problems

Post by David William »

Just on the off chance anyone is a Nissan Patrol expert-
My dad has one that wont start, 2001 3L Diesel cranks over but nothing else, took it to the local Nissan garage they couldn't be bothered fixing too complicated for them! But they did reckon it may be to do with electronics on the fuel pump.
Any ideas ?

Write that exact piece in Hello Peter and see what happens, guarantee you'll get a response very quickly. Nissan Flagship product and they cannot fix their own product issues... unacceptable.

Ps: There are some very experienced mechanics here on the forum and im positive you will get good advice soon, just give it till monday at least.

Hi David
Had a similar problem ,car was ruunning like a dream , but the engine light comes on , it was the pump control module , i had a good look around for diesel mac's , they dont want anything to do with the vp44 pump because you need to strip out the front of the car to get the pump out , and they dont have the test bench and computer to set the thing up, mine is been repaired at the moment by a company called Team diesel chris lessing (011)823-3770 they are in jet park , he seems to understand these pumps and has the right equipment to set them up , give him a call , they not the cheapest pumps to repair and i complete overhaul is R12800 plus labour and the other bits as well and also dont forget to add the bit for the tax man , so i will keep you posted on how it goes ,should get my baby back on tuesday , and let you how its running

David,

Please send details and who the dealer was. We can send that to Nissan to follow up as they need to make sure their dealers are looking after their products. We cannot let the dealers get away with this   .

DAVID WILLIAM -- PLEEEZZZ advise if you came right with that stubborn no-start of the Troll ??

TWO other causes of that :(1) Battery amps not high enough to fire up the Troll Diesel

(2) WATER in your diesel [shake the car but GOOD, drain 5 liter into a see-through container - let stand 24 hrs and see if there is water in ..

Now - let us know what happened??
