Life with LOBO
I know where I woul WANT to start - at the beginning] but time is few, so I just want to give a quick "status update" of LOBO and I ...
BUT first - GREAT BIG BIG VERY BIG HUGE TAHNK YOU's to: (1) Frans [aka Tour de Frans] for sorting Lobo the night before, so I could drive the 'Old Wolf' all teh way back to Pretoria.. BAIE DANKIE FRANS .. hou maar daai kierie hoog, jy verdien hom sowaar:
(2) CP NEL Motors [Delta Dealer] in Beaufort West - specifically Wiehan, the young man who so went out of his way te get the misaligned buthchered pully on the crank [cannot call two bolted together pullies a '"Crank Pully" ] to a state where the fan belt stays on [and still does] - AND the engineering shop that stopped and assisted..
and (3) the BreakDown service at Leeu Gamka, that really came to my rescue after the skew pulley disintegrated the fan belt. Dankie Piet en Christoper, coming to my rescue in the middle of nowhere
Lobo is home, as most of you know by now. Some of the niggles that the previous owner had, has never lifted a head since he is back with me.
The alternator was lose, and thus could not charge the battery - since Frans tightened the alternator, never once did Lobo go 'huh - huh' with me. Even on the coldest mornings, and even after standing for 4 days without being driven.
Getting into the old thing is a pleasure I can't describe. Dis sommer net MOERSE Lekkerrrrrrrrrrr. That high seat, the drone [beat???] of the 63mm freeflow, everything . [I swear I have more FUN and enjoyment driving Lobo than the youngster around the block with his Porsche Cayenne .. wragtag]
After having had to fix a string of things that was *****, amongst having had to take him to Van Zyl's Springs to re-do the springs, replace the bushes as well as the pin that goes through the spring pack that keeps the axle in place on the spring pack so it does not shift[all bushes were gone, and Lobo failed the RW test coz of it] After all things fixed...
Soooo today he got his Road Worthy Certificate -
Mow - to save up te rebuild the engine as the the out of balance, off centre, off balance, crude pulley did a lot of damage on the inside of that engine [big-ends, crank seals front & rear, con rods, con rod bearings .. to name but a few - and to have the air conditioner re-installed, as the
Previous owner re-moved it [for what I don't have the faintest idea]

Oom Mac

Re: Life with LOBO
