Nissan Club Lesotho Trip 2012
Other forum members that were part of this trip will fill in more details and beautiful photos of the snow.
The first thing to state is that this trip will be remembered for a long time a the trip where nothing went according to plan, mainly because Sani pass was (still is) closed on account of the snowfalls last week. So each of us ended up improvising to some extent, having some sort of Lesotho trip, and then rendezvoused at Afriski on Saturday afternoon.
Then, let me pre-empt the embarrassment yet to come on this forum... Me trying to get around two cars that were slipping on the road due to the snow blown onto the road (see the photos below). The road was not as wide as the snow profile on it suggested. So I ended up in a thick ditch of snow. Luckily Vaughn and Ricster were still on their way up from Afriski, and I got to use my kinetic.

Went pony trekking there once (not even close to middle of winter) and remember that it was @#$% cold!
We spent most of last week in the mineral springs at Badplaas - hats off to you guys to brave the cold

What a trip
Thanks to all for the arrangements. Everything went wrong, but the people in the small towns help us and we never had a cold bed. Cedric, Cules and I tagged together after
Sani pass was closed until the end of this week so we had to make other plans. One of the best trips I have had. Experianced snow driving with great bunch of friends.

Re: Nissan Club Lesotho Trip 2012
W O W .... W O W... !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What a trip!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This was possibly the ultimate in adventures. The only part of the plan that I think really happened exactly to plan was the breakfast meet up in Clarens before leaving back to JHB!!!!
What a fantastic bunch of guys and girls. EVERYONE got on with EVERYONE..... like great mates.... the girls had a blast.... some of the guys had bad sinus problems ( Grant and I are convinced the sinus is caused by Jagermeister !!!
)
Wimpie and Bianca that traveled from Lightenburg to join in on the trip....We will definitely brew some gluwien together again!!
I will get all my pics and post here too..... very soon. I'm still shaking from the EXTREME driving done this last 4-5 days!!!
