EFS Suspension

Post by Mike Meyer »

Hi Guys,
I've been offered EFS Suspension Front 85Kg 50mm lift, Rear 200Kg 50mm lift for my 95 Patrol.
I don't see any reference to this brand on the forum or even much advertising in the 4x4 media.
Does anyone know anything about this equipment ?

"MR 4x4" Andre de Villiers of Safari 4x4 Roetes on Kyknet and Safari Centre Guru is advertising EFS in the Wegry and SA 4x4 magazine.

Arnold Venter of CRD in Alberton is of the opinion that they are the better suspension kit.

According to the importers the EFS is still manufactured in Aus and not in China as OME and TJM. This I cannot confirm but that is the story they tell.

Me myself and I are going to fit EFS the moment I have the time ($$$$).

Dag Maats.

Ja daar is nogsteeds probleme.

Groete
Tommie

Hello gents

I don't drive a Patrol but I have EFS fitted to my HB at present. I was present at the launch of EFS by Broadacres Fitment Centre (nowadays Opposite Lock something) back I think in August/September of 2010. According to all sources in the industry EFS has grown in popularity at such a rate that it currently is a very serious contender in the South African market. There are also a multitude of fitment centres that install EFS e.g. Safari Centre, Opposite Lock Broadacres, Blue Rhino etc.

Interms of pricing on my HB when I fitted the EFS in increasing order of cost: EFS, Tough Dog, OME and TJM. All of these come from Aus land and the EFS/TD carry a 3 year 100k km warrantee. I previously had Camils fitted to my HB and to be honest there is not much difference in terms of handling/performance between the Camils and the EFS though the Camils are much cheaper due to the fact that these are just shocks - the EFS in my case consists of 4 x shocks, 2 x blade packs and 2 x torsion bars. The latter being noticeably thicker than the OM parts.

In summary the EFS is not bad at all and definitely the cheaper of the options - not sure about Ironman though.
Groete/Regards,

George Brittnell
