Will that thing fit into a 2006 GRX? I'm thinking of putting a V8 in mine as well, but not sure if it will fit.
What about gearboxes? Will the standard 5-speed tipronic be able to handle all the power/torque, or do you have to pair it with a different 'box?
How much torque does it make? I see the power is just enough at 300kW so torque should be in the region of 600Nm?
Price on the motor delivered to your door? Is it basically the same motor as found in the 6.0 Lumina SS?
Sorry about al the questions, but I'm really interested in doing the same...

Sias, the question begs - How much power do you want unless you currently have a diesel.
IMHO the 4.8 in the 2002+ patrols is as much as one could ask for in a 2.5t vehicle.

One can never have enough power. The motor is apparently being shipped in a weeks time. Dennis I am running the standard 5 speed. Will probably use the Gilo adapter!!
As for the price..................................thats a secret..............................but lets put it this way it will be less than R50000.00 landed.

Al, you will have to move the engine forward therefor the Gillo adaptor will be to short. The Marks adaptor is the right length.

I'm sure if you speak to the right people you can get 300kw out of the 4.5 and 4.8 for less than the cost of the V8.

Herrie - ken jy sulke mense?
The thing is if you lift the power to 300kw, won't the engine be over-stressed?
I want to get more torque - about 500 to 550Nm. How do you go about doing that?
